Henry Davis Carlton shot and killed his brother in law, Beck Jones. It was reported that Beck Jones had followed Henry Davis Carlton into town, and was taunting him all day. That evening they had been playing cards and drinking when the shooting occurred. Henry Davis Carlton was acquitted of the the crime.
