Charles R. Ross and Francis D. Potts Ross divorced in 1869. On the 1870, Caldwell County, Missouri census, Francis D. Potts Ross is living with Wiley B. Smith and his wife, Mary Newell Smith. Wiley B. Smith's sister, Mary Smith Lane, was married to James Lane. James Lane was the son of William Lane and Nancy Potts Lane. Nancy Potts Lane and Francis D. Potts Ross were sisters.
1876, Fairview Township, Caldwell, Missouri Map Corp. Charles R. "Uncle Charley" Ross and Francis D. (Fannie) Potts Ross Prince are in Township 9 and their son, John Gudgel Ross, is in Township 4. The land owned by John Gudgel Ross was later owned by his mother. She in turn, left it to her son, Jacob Riley Ross, in her will.
