James T. "Jim" Ross served for the Union in the Civil War in the 1st Regiment, Missouri State Militia Cavalry, Company G. He enlisted on 25 Mar 1860 in Gallatin, Daviess, Missouri and he mustered out on 17 Mar 1865 in Warrensburg, Johnson, Missouri. He enlisted with his own horse and horse equipment.
