Notes
Many researchers have that Henry H. Shaner was married to Barbara Ann Stoneback. This is another Henry H. Shaner that actually was named William H. Shaner and he went by the name of Henry. This William H. Henry Shaner was born in 1841 and died in 1931. Our Henry H. Shaner was born in 1844 and died in 1866.
Henry H. Shaner fought for the Union during the Civil War. He fought with his brother, John Biery Shaner, in the 121st Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry, Company A. He became very ill sometime in Aug 1863 which caused all of his hair to fall out. He was discharged on 10 Apr 1864 by reason of disability, and on 6 Jun 1864 his mother applied for his invalid pension. He died 2 years later.
